We are recruiting for the position of Head of School for a Montessori School in Abeokuta.
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s Degree in education required.
A Master’s Degree in an education-related field is preferred. PGDE, Teachers Registration
Have proven leadership skills and experience, think strategically and be open to scrutiny and challenge
Lead with enthusiasm and inspire staff
Be experienced at promoting the well-being of staff and children
Be a visible, positive and approachable presence around the school
Be resilient and demonstrate sound and consistent judgement when challenges arise
Extensive knowledge of IT plus high knowledge of Social Media. handles
Possess good financial/budget management skills
Have knowledge and experience of safeguarding and Special Educational Needs
Appreciate where we are and have a vision for taking us further that extends beyond the national curriculum and school set out standards
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a classroom teacher, plus 3 years school leadership experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students, students’ records, parents, and colleagues.
To teach pupils in their assigned group according to their educational needs, including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by the students in school and elsewhere.
To ensure a high quality learning experience for pupils, which meets internal and external quality standards.
To use a variety of a delivery methods appropriate to students’ learning styles and the varying demands of the curriculum.
Planning and preparing scheme of work, courses and lessons;
Teaching, according to their educational needs, the pupils assigned to him/her, including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by the pupils in school and elsewhere;
Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils.
To ensure a high quality learning experience for pupils.
Will be responsible for staff delivery and professionalism.
Responsible for the standards and curriculum of all pupils including monitoring of progress towards achievement
Proactively manage staff and resources.
Manage curriculum integration process across Nigerian and British standards for elementary classes and blended EYFS with Montessori for the early years classes.
Take responsibility for the day to day running of the school.
Take full responsibility for the school in the absence of the Directors.
Carry out the professional duties of a teacher as required.
Take responsibility for safeguarding issues as appropriate.
Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and staffs within the school.
To teach pupils in their assigned group according to their educational needs, including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by the students in school and elsewhere.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT
Bachelor’s degree in education required.
A master’s degree in an education-related field is
preferred. PGDE, Teachers registration certificate TRCN, IT certifications
