 Mathematics Teacher

Job Summary:

The Mathematics Teacher is responsible for teaching mathematical concepts and skills in a clear, engaging, and structured manner. The teacher will help students develop problem-solving abilities, logical reasoning, and confidence in mathematics, in line with the school’s curriculum and academic standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver effective mathematics lessons appropriate to students’ age and ability levels.
  • Teach number concepts, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, measurement, statistics, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prepare lesson notes, teaching aids, and instructional materials aligned with the approved curriculum.
  • Assess, record, and report students’ academic progress through tests, assignments, and continuous assessment.
  • Identify students who need additional support and provide remediation where necessary.
  • Maintain an orderly, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Encourage critical thinking, accuracy, and logical reasoning.
  • Participate in school meetings, trainings, and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents when required.
  • Uphold school policies, values, and professional ethics.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (B.Sc Ed, B.Ed, or equivalent).
  • Teaching certification or registration with TRCN (where applicable).
  • Previous teaching experience is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and teaching methodologies.
  • Good classroom management and interpersonal skills.
