Job Title:
English Language Teacher
Job Summary:
The English Language Teacher is responsible for teaching students the fundamentals of English language, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and comprehension. The teacher will foster a love for language, develop students’ communication skills, and support their academic growth in line with the school’s curriculum and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English language lessons appropriate to students’ age and ability levels.
- Teach reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and oral communication skills.
- Assess, record, and report students’ progress through tests, assignments, and continuous assessment.
- Prepare lesson notes and instructional materials in line with the approved curriculum.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication among students.
- Maintain a conducive and orderly classroom environment.
- Provide support and remediation for students who require extra help.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, trainings, and extracurricular programs.
- Collaborate with other teachers and communicate effectively with parents when necessary.
- Uphold school policies, values, and professional ethics at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English Language, English Education, or a related field (B.A Ed, B.Ed, or equivalent).
- Teaching certification or registration with TRCN (where applicable).
- Previous teaching experience is an added advantage.
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
- Good classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and working with children.
