Job Description

Biology is more than a subject for you. It is the study of life in action. Whether you’re explaining cellular respiration, leading ecological fieldwork, or helping students investigate genetics through practical experiments, you make complex scientific ideas accessible and memorable. You understand that excellent Biology teaching extends beyond examination success; it develops curiosity, analytical thinking, and scientific literacy.

You will lead Biology and Agricultural Science teaching across secondary levels, with direct responsibility for exam outcomes, curriculum delivery, and student preparation for external competitions. This is a role with real influence. Your department’s results will shape the school’s academic reputation.

You will:

  • Design and deliver Biology and Agricultural Science curricula aligned to WAEC and IGCSE standards
  • Prepare students for external examinations and academic competitions, with a clear record of strong results
  • Manage classrooms and student behaviour to a high standard
  • Mentor junior teachers and support their professional growth
  • Confident use of educational technology
  • Experience developing schemes of work and lesson planning
  • Work with school leadership on academic planning and student outcomes

About You

You bring at least 4 years of experience in an educational setting, ideally an international or private school. You hold an IGCSE certification or equivalent, and you can point to specific results: exam pass rates, competition wins, or student progress you have driven.

You have:

  • A minimum of 4 years’ teaching experience, preferably in an international or private school
  • IGCSE certification (preferred)
  • A proven record of WAEC and IGCSE exam results
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Experience mentoring students

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Beyond examination success, you help students develop resilience, creativity and confidence.

Beyond the Classroom

Outstanding educators don’t stop teaching when the lesson ends.

We are looking for someone who will contribute to our wider school community through:

  • STEM programmes
  • Innovation challenges
  • Curriculum development
  • School exhibitions and showcases
